The South London music scene was once a thriving community with bands and gig-goers forming a unique bond with their local venues for championing new upcoming artists. A subculture once viewed by many as an informal form of education that provided a sense of history, community and identity has been shutdown and irrefutable changed.

Through investigation into D.I.Y culture and primary research with those involved in the scene, I aim to focus my Individual Programme of Study around recent events, looking at the damaging impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on it. I further intend to watch this space as society transitions back to a form of normality and study the impact this will have on the relationship between the two. I will be looking at creating a physical publication as my subject’s medium that will serve as a record for this subculture's uncertain time and future.
