Idea

I got in contact with one of the lesser known bands from the publication and asked them how they would feel about using their music in the promotional graphics. Thankfully, they loved the idea and gave me the go-ahead!

In terms of format - I wanted to export this from Photoshop as a GIF. However, due to the use of audio I had to export as an MP4 file. This meant that on some online platforms it may not work as "automatically" as a GIF might have, however most platforms would be fine to play MP4 files without too much issue.

I was very happy with this outcome for a day task, as I felt it did a great job to include content, visuals and sound in the promo. It really got me excited for the publication, which was the overall task at hand.

Still Graphics

Below you can see some other still promo graphics that advertise each interview with each band separately. I believe this would be helpful in informing the viewer which band is which, had they never seen what they look like before.

I wanted them to reflect the style of the magazine. To do this I used pre-edited imagery and the same typestyle. I also kept it in Greyscale. When contrasting this with my yellow graphics I think this would work well if posted on social media to break up the amount of colour being used on a feed.

You can see that I've created 1 separate design for each interview to highlight key content that is featured in the magazine. It also helps to create a sense of excitement, as these can be released separately over a longer period of time.

After Print Promotion Graphics

I revisited the promotional graphics after I receive my print copy back, as I wanted to create some using the physical copy.
